Hi Krissy, I'm just going to quickly talk you through what's on your page at the moment. So yeah, just thank you so much for taking the time to have a chat, it really was nice to meet you. Obviously at the top of the page, dead simple really. It's just a little bit about me, obviously this recording, and you can ask a question there on the right as well.
There is an update section which I'll come back to, but I just wanted to run through the audit very quickly for you. It might look terrifying with over 500 critical technical errors, but some of them will be duplicates. So there are things that you definitely need to do and have a look at in order to help your site just get up the rankings a little bit more. It is something obviously I can help you with.
But more than anything, it's the little bits and pieces which I go into a bit more detail below. So your page speed, that's quite nice, not too bad at all. You always want to be aiming for at least 80 plus.
So you're nearly there with mobile speed and desktop speed spot on. So your hosting side of things, I know it's on Wix. I think a lot of people sort of struggle with the functionality of Wix in the long run, so perhaps we can have another chat about that in the future if you are looking to update or change anything. The links to compromised domains, I think you've got a bit of an archived link there.
So it'd probably be worth, because that's such a good page, to just go in and double-checking the links on that. 14 out of 15 on the website accessible from different locations. Standard, because a lot of US-based hosting companies won't let it view in Russia. And I'm pretty sure you're okay with that. So no anchor text, that's often to do with some bits and pieces within the design where they've not been put together properly. It's not the biggest issue. So the links that aren't available for crawling within the sitemap, it's worth double-checking what those pages are and making sure that it's fine that Google doesn't know what they are. I mean, to me, it looks like most of them are okay. I can imagine you don't really want Google worrying about down for maintenance. But there are still sort of a couple in there that might be stuff that you want indexed. You can usually do that within Wix.
You can have a look and make sure that they're in there to make sure that they haven't got a nofollow or a noindex thing, but just shout if you need some help with that. Missing alt-image text is a massive pain because it's a lot of work. When you're uploading images, it's easy to just go done. But you really can make use of the alt text to help with not only SEO, but also to really make sure that your site is as accessible as possible. Images is something that you really do need to have a dig into. Just describe the image.
It's always good if you can tie it back to the page that it's on. You've got a picture of, say, a wedding cake and perhaps it's got the edible flowers on the top. I'm just thinking of your popular ones though. You would call the image now, wedding cake with edible flowers. Just to keep it all in line.
Redirects, I think that they're absolutely fine really. Your external links, not really too much of a problem. But I would double-check. your Instagram because I know that that was still in place is going to the baking business lounge so just double-check that before you go anywhere further with it. The other bits I'm going to go back up to the top now and open the updates. In here I did give you a link to the affirmations page, really useful, just a good way for you to kind of try and get yourself in the right mindset. Because I know it's very easy to sort of be all riddled with imposter syndrome. I thoroughly get that. And then I put together a very basic content planner. So I'm just gonna have a quick look at that with you.
So the content planner itself, it's dead simple. It's got a content bank. So you can start to just drop ideas in there. And you can basically tag them as to what pillars they come under. It's got different views in there as well. So you can then say, right, I've got a load of ideas.
So if you go into your status board and just start dumping ideas in, then when you're ready, you can start updating those ideas to whether you're creating the visuals or whether you've scheduled them or writing the copy. You know, there's all those different areas. So you've got somewhere to just dump things, but then when you start kind of thinking about what you wanna say, you can do that. And the pillars, I popped in a couple of sort of standardised ones so if you were going to sit and go through creation for like some practical advice for instance it's really good now to sit in that and think okay what's five different bits of practical advice I can give somebody about their cake business and you know you can start putting them in there as ideas and then you can think all right well I've got some really good testimonials and client stories and maybe I can pop a couple of those in there So, then the tips and insights, that's again where you get the sort of information on the flowers or how to work Instagram as a cake business, what you need to do about food hygiene, those kind of things, so that you can get your head into each of those different pillars and just rattle off a load of content. And before you know it, your idea board will be filled with loads of bits and pieces. Then it breaks it down to what you've got going out this month and the calendar as well. So, it's just a really simple way of doing it. And then you can say, right, okay, blog-wise, I've got this many pieces ready to go. That's all automatically generated through formulas. So, as things move through different statuses, then they'll appear as whether their ideas are ready to go.
And it just gives you something to kind of move through in a bit of order. I have done a cheeky bit of AI suggestions for some blog post titles. Blog posts are a really good way to get yourself into a rhythm for social. Because sometimes you'll find that in doing blog posts, ideas will come up that you can turn into posts, and of course, then you can share the blog itself as well.
But for instance, with the 25 essential tools, you don't have to do 25, it could just be five. But you could then do a social media post on each of the five tools. So you could end up with six pieces of content just from that one blog. So stop trying to think in days and number of posts, start thinking in content.
Because the main thing you want is people to resonate with what you're saying. So if you start thinking about the post first and the content second, it's a bit ass about face, excuse French. Right. So back to your updates, suggestions, and next steps. I've included Laura on there. She does a lot about reels and stuff for Instagram. She's on my list of, oh dear Lord, I really should.
Then there is Emma Cossey who does kind of what you do, but for a big old umbrella of freelance. So, she has some amazing free resources on there. Join up with her Facebook group as well. You'll probably even find a lot of cake businesses within there, but the main thing being that it's just another resource to kind of help you keep your head on. And then Sarah Waite, she's brilliant. She's based over in Canada, ex-Pat Brit. But if you go for one of her homepage copy reviews, you won't be disappointed. Takes her a couple of weeks to come back with it, but it's often really nice to get a fresh pair of eyes on your homepage. And she's really good at copywriting. So if you're ever stuck with anything, she does do some really good packages as well. So I've dumped the meeting summary from the freebie in there as well. And then at the top, it was just all of those little bits and pieces that you and I discussed in the meeting. So there was some issues with the link colors on the website about getting your events out on Eventbrite and seeing if it can link him with Facebook as well. And of course, always just give a shout if you need anything. And in the email that I've sent you, there will be a couple of packages. I'd love it if you did come back to me. because I think that there's a lot that could be done and certainly a lot that would make a big impact quite quickly for you as well, especially with all that technical SEO. There are ways and means and a bit of the indexing that I can make sure is done for you. So if you did want to have a chat again, anytime, you're more than welcome. Anyway, I hope that you find it all useful and yeah, reach out if you need anything at all. Thank you.
